After thoroughly mixing the two components according to the correct ratio, the material is applied by roller, brush, or spray gun depending on the item. Using a mixer at the correct speed and time will help the mixture become homogeneous, reduce air bubbles, and improve the quality of the finished coating.

Drying time and readiness for use

The drying time of DEFIX FLOOR FINISH EF-1 depends on the ambient temperature. At approximately 30°C, the paint layer can be recoated after about 8 hours, is walkable after 20 hours, can withstand light traffic after 2 days, and is fully cured after about 7 days. At lower temperatures, the drying time will be proportionally longer.

Adhering to the correct waiting time between stages will help the paint layer achieve maximum mechanical strength, ensuring a long lifespan for the entire floor paint system.

Recommended paint system

For load-bearing concrete substrates, DEFIX recommends using a system consisting of 1–2 coats of Defix Floor Primer EP-1, followed by 2–3 coats of Defix Floor Finish EF-1 for optimal protection and durability.

For metal surfaces, 1–2 coats of Dtranspox Primer DEP should be used before applying 1–2 coats of DEFIX FLOOR FINISH EF-1 to increase adhesion and corrosion resistance.
